Publication Ethics

Sustainability Education Globe is committed to the highest publication standards and ethics. The following represent the core of our ethics framework, which are in alignment with the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines as well as the ethical bylaws and regulations relevant to authors, reviewers, and the editorial board.

Authors’ Responsibilities:

  • Submitted manuscripts must represent original works authored by the authors themselves..
  • Authors should abide by the civil regulations, laws, and copyright .
  • Authors should follow the rules of quotations, citations, and reference ethics.
  • We only accept manuscripts which have not been previously published and which are not under review by other journals.
  • Authors are free to submit their manuscripts to other journals if they receive a rejection  letter or opt to withdraw their submission.
  • Co-authors’ consent is to be obtained prior to submitting a manuscript.
  • Co-authors’ contributions should be acknowledged, and the list of authors should include them in the order of their contribution. Also, the corresponding authors should abstain from including any names under the authors’ list of names without having contributed to the manuscript.
  • Authors should disclose any conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results of the manuscript review.
  • Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism are to avoided at all costs.
  • Authors should ensure that their studies have been conducted in full accordance with the ethical standards of human rights.
  • If authors find a fatal error in their manuscripts, they must inform the editorial board to correct or delete it.
  • Authors have the copyrights of their manuscripts and once their manuscripts are accepted for publication, the copyright is transferred to the journal.
  • Authors should revise their manuscripts according to the comments of the reviewers. If they disagree with these comments, they should provide convincing justifications or else the journal has the right to reject the manuscripts.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities:

  • Reviewers should adhere to the Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers (COPE).
  • Reviewers should inform the editorial board if they are not ready to review a manuscript and withdraw from reviewing.
  • Reviewers cannot use any information from a submitted manuscript for their interests.
  • Reviewers should withdraw from reviewing a manuscript if conflicts of interest arise in any form or shape.
  • Reviewers should ensure that the manuscripts they review are free of plagiarism and should inform the Editor-in-Chief of any similarity between the manuscript they review or any other published ones.
  • Reviewers should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript before the consent of the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Reviewers are expected to be objective, avoid bias, and write their comments clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Reviews should be submitted within the requested time.
  • Reviewers’ information and comments are highly confidential and can be disclosed only to the Editor-in-Chief and the Vice-Editor-in-Chief.
  • Reviewers should make sure that published papers are in conformity with the aims and scope of the journal.
  • Reviewers should make sure that abstracts clearly state the problem context, describe the problem statement, specify the methodology, and indicate the contribution/results
  • Reviewers should make sure that the ideas/procedures/results of the published papers are original, relevant, and generalizable.
  • Reviewers should make sure that papers describe the characteristics of a population/situation/phenomenon.
  • Reviewers should make sure that papers use a coherent/consistent/rigourous analysis method
  • Reviewers should make sure that papers present a comprehensive overview of the literature.
  • Reviewers should make sure that papers identify the shortcomings of the exisisting approaches, if any.
  • Overall, reivewers should make sure that papers are well-structured, arguments are credible, and applied methods of research are valid.
  • Reviewers are expected to meet the deadline assigned by the editor-in-chief.

Editorial Board Responsibilities:

  • Editors and editorial staff should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript nor about the comments of the reviewers.
  • Editors should make sure that the submitted manuscripts adhere to the publication ethics.
  • Editors evaluate the submitted manuscripts without regard to the authors’ race, gender, citizenship, religious belief, or political affiliation.
  • Editors should deal with the authors’ complaints and keep all the relevant documents.
  • Editors should report all the authors’ complaints to the Editor -in -Chief.
  • Editors should review the manuscript forms.
